America's Family

On Thanksgiving, ICE separates the Diaz family while the community fights for them to find their way back together.
America's Family
A fictional feature film about the painful issue of immigrant expulsion in the United States. When ICE raids the Diaz home on Thanksgiving Day, the family is torn apart: mother Marisol is arrested and detained, father Jorge is forced to seek refuge in a synagogue, and eldest son Koke is deported. Each family member braves their way through the crisis, discovering unexpected reserves of love, faith, and community inspiration on their journey to reunify. Reflects today's American family as intersectional, mixed-status, and mixed-ethnic, also grappling with disability, police brutality, and racism, with an international cast and crew, majority people of color and immigrants.
