Draws its title from the Langston Hughes poem "I, Too" and is as much a work of protest and community organizing as a work of art, featuring a predominantly immigrant cast and crew of over 250 extras, most of whom are non-actors and immigrants themselves. Young muralist Manny Santiago is arrested after being wrongfully accused of tagging his own mural; after a night in a holding cell, he learns he was ordered removed back in 2008 due to his undocumented immigration status, despite being only nine years old at the time and unaware of any pending deportation. When he refuses to sign a voluntary departure, Manny is sent into detention. Stars Academy Award nominee Barkhad Abdi and features music by Grammy winners Quetzal. Commissioned by CHIRLA, production began the same day President Trump signed the Executive Order restricting entry from seven countries.
