The Self-Made Man
Is it ever rational to choose death? Is it ever good?
by Susan Stern53 minsClosed captioning available
On Independence Day at Stern Ranch, 77-year-old solar energy pioneer Bob Stern learns he is seriously ill. Rather than face a prolonged decline, Bob decides to end his life on his own terms and sets up a video camera to record his thoughts as his family tries to stop him. His daughter, filmmaker Susan Stern, explores 'rational suicide,' the right-to-die movement, and the difficult end-of-life choices faced by an aging population.
