Chronicles the life of pioneering muckraking journalist and press critic George Seldes, whose 80-year career included exposing Mussolini's fascism in the 1920s, supporting civil rights in the 1940s and '50s, and attacking the tobacco industry's deadly effects on health through his newsletter, In Fact. Through Seldes's encounters with Lenin, Mussolini, and J. Edgar Hoover, and interviews with Ralph Nader, Ben Bagdikian, Daniel Ellsberg, and others, the film provides a gripping journey through 20th-century press censorship, culminating in a 1989 interview with the feisty, 98-year-old Seldes at his Vermont home. Narrated by Susan Sarandon. Academy Award nominee, Best Documentary Feature.
