Wheelchair Diaries: One Step Up

A filmmaker explores the lack of handicapped accessibility in Western Europe.
Wheelchair Diaries: One Step Up
After being discouraged from attending a study-abroad program in Florence due to accessibility concerns, wheelchair user and filmmaker Reid Davenport - in his first film - sets out to explore how Europe treats people in wheelchairs. What he finds is revealing not only of European attitudes toward disability but also of how society as a whole views disability, made partly out of the frustration of not being able to study abroad with his classmates.
